Hey, my name is Ashani

YvesPolitan(Ashani) is a 23-year-old, black Non-Binary Haitian; currently based in New York. As a Haitian ambient and electronic producer, their goal is to create calming, glitchy, and chilled sounds for listeners. Ashani hopes to create music that can speak to people uniquely as they pull inspiration from many genres ranging from dance to noise. Ashani's music takes you on an adventure that explores ominous and gritty music, with a mix of harsher sounds, softer elements and drums. Ashani is also a photographer and writes poetry in their free time. Ash Believes in Anti-Imperialism, Disability Justice, Public Health Awareness, Mutual aid, Black and Queer Liberation, Land Back, etc. Their understanding of the world and creativity has been influenced by Assata Shakur, June Jordan, Thomas Sankara, Marsha P. Johnson, Moor Mother, Wendy Carlos, Puce Mary, and their appreciation for Haitian Vodou.
